„Zerstörung durch die Moderne“ – Why this title?
I tried to paint the base of the picture in a relatively classic way. I applied a neat background and designed the body and head with matching colors. And before completing this picture, I essentially elevated it into a completely different style by applying pop colors straight from the tube. Honestly, I have no idea what you call it. I would call it abstract Pop Art.
And the motif shown is, in my opinion, also very well suited as a symbol. The longed-for Native American is essentially destroyed in his origins by the use of modern painting techniques. At least, it is permanently blurred. He is no longer himself. Because he is no longer allowed to be. Modernity, based on history, the spread of white people in the New World, imposes its own image on him. Just as the New World sees fit. Unfortunately, despite the visible weapon, the Native American is powerless against external influences and remains alone in his helplessness.
